In a chain-and-flight collector, a grit collector, a headworks screen, a scum removal system, or a flocculator, the chain is often one of the highest-wear components in the system. Conventional cast-iron and fabricated chains stretch, wear, and corrode. Tension adjustments and full replacements mean taking the basin out of service, again and again, over the life of the plant.
Mega-CHAIN is JMS’s cast stainless steel chain, made in the USA and built on DuraMax® investment-cast technology. JMS is the exclusive provider of DuraMax products in the water and wastewater market. Mega-CHAIN combines DuraMax cast stainless technology with JMS application engineering, equipment integration and aftermarket support. Made in the USA with domestic sourcing and documentation to support BABA, AIS, Buy American, and other domestic sourcing requirements.
Each link is investment cast from aerospace-grade, precipitation-hardening stainless steel, roughly twice as hard as conventional cast steel chain, with a full-length reinforcing rib that carries higher pull and shock loads without the stress risers that crack cast and fabricated links. An install-by-hand, non-rotating pin lets one person assemble the chain without pressing, and precise cast tolerances help reduce grit entry into the joint so wear stays low.
When paired with properly selected sprockets, Mega-CHAIN is engineered for a 20-year design life in continuous-duty water and wastewater service. Its long-term durability can help reduce maintenance and replacement frequency across flocculators, scum removal systems, chain-and-flight collectors, grit collectors, elevators, and headworks screens. Mega-CHAIN is backed by a warranty of up to 10 years on qualified applications, five years full and five pro-rated, conditional on documented annual inspection, properly selected sprockets, and correct tension and alignment.
